Things and Stuff

The next morning, while Mama was at the lab and the kids were at school, Papa snuck off to a mysterious, abandoned, warehouse downtown.

When the family returned home they found a plethora of new things inside and outside the home. There was a telescope and a fire pit in the yard. There was a brand new car in the driveway!

The kitchen was chock full of all new, top-of-the-line, appliances.

The one queen-size bed in the bedroom had been replaced with four, twin-size, beds. No more sleeping in shifts. There was even a new entertainment center in the living room.

Apparently, Papa thought that he could get back into the family's good graces by showering them with material goods. But where could he have possibly got the money for all of these high ticket items...?

Either way, Bro was not about to be bought off so easily. When Papa returned to the house, Bro confronted him about his unacceptable behavior the night before.

Papa responded to Bro's complaints by slapping him hard across the face.

Bro ran outside, fighting back tears of rage. He glared into the fire pit as his mind raced out of control. Then... he got an idea.
