I, Noory

"Letters I've written, never meaning to send"
From the song, Nights in White Satin
By The Moody Blues

My Beloved Karen,

To whom can I unburden myself, when the truth only leads to more suffering and more death? The answer is no one. And yet, the weight of the guilt I carry is crushing me. And I have no time to be crushed.

Not that I don't deserve to be crushed. I certainly do. Even if my part in the martian holocaust sprung wholly from a pathetic and naive ignorance. That does not change the fact that I was part of something unspeakable and unforgivable. I desire nothing more than to be crushed and annihilated for my crimes against the innocent.

But what of the innocent who remain and are in peril? How can I turn my back on them now? They are in their moment of greatest need, and I must do what I can. However, I do not expect the smallest piece of mercy or absolution for what little help I might render them. I would not accept forgiveness if it was offered me. I pray for one thing and one thing only, not for me but for them. I pray that they might have hope.

Until we meet again...

All my love,
Jordan

Short Hiatus

TEENAGERS FROM MARS is going to be going on a brief hiatus until Tuesday, September 1, 2009. My wife and I had our much beloved, oldest dog, Gracie, pass on today. She was the sweetest most adoring dog. We will miss her very much.

Also, we have been planning a vacation for next week. So I am going to take a break from doing TFM from now until we get back from our vacation. I apologize for the break in the action. I look forward very much to continuing the adventure when I return. Thank you to everyone who has been reading my blog and for all of your nice comments. See you in a couple weeks. -Dave

The Real McCoy

Dr. Noory managed to pile the Martian family into his SUV and disappear around the corner mere seconds before the MIBS arrived at their home. He drove them far out of town to a house in the williwags that belonged to a trusted friend. Since they could finally relax a little, for the first time in days, the cool mountain air soon had everyone making Z's.

The following day, Dr. Noory informed Baby, Bro, and Mama that they would soon be having company. It seems that when the doctor helped Mama to escape from Mars with her children, he also smuggled out the only pure-strain Martian known to have survived the PTB's brutal extermination campaign.

This Martian, whose name is Wrill, had spent the last few months hiding out from the MIBS, down in a network of catacombs beneath the Sunset Valley Cemetery.

Baby's jaw nearly hit the floor. "You mean to tell me that the mysterious presence in the crypt, the one that nearly fried my brains to tater-tots last week, is really a pure-blooded Martian? And that he's coming here for a slumber party???"

Dr. Noory explained that Wrill would be taking a powerful drug that dampens his psychic overflow and that everyone would be safe around him. Still, this was a lot to take in. Baby and Bro decided to go for a long walk and talk things over. When they returned to the house they had decided that they had no alternative but to accept this bizarre turn of events.

Dr. Noory had said that his niece, Ruby, would be picking Wrill up at the cemetery some time this evening. All there was left to do was to wait and watch for their new companions to arrive

Running with the Devil

Mama could not believe how quickly their peaceful lives had been turned upside down by tragedy.

She got another shock when Dr. Noory announced that the family was going to have to flee the house tonight with just the clothes on their backs.

"Oh, I think we have time to pack a few things. Clothes at least.", said Baby.

"You don't understand.", said Dr. Noory. "I just got an instant message from one of my contacts on the inside. The Agents are on their way back here to finish the job. And they are less than a mile away."

LEAVE ME ALONE!!!

An emotionally shattered and noticably aged Bro stumbled home in a trance. Lisa was gone. He knew that now. And life did not feel worth living.

Mama told Bro that she would really appreciate it if he had a talk with Dr. Noory. She said that Bro really needs to hear what he has to say.

But Bro was just angry and depressed. He couldn't care less about this Dr. Noory. He told her that not only was Lisa gone for good, but that he had a stong feeling that they would not be seeing Papa again either.

Finally Bro ran into Dr. Noory outside. Bro told Dr. Noory that his family was going through a very tough and personal time now and that he would like Dr. Noory to leave them alone.

Dr. Noory tried to explain to Bro that he knew a lot of important information about these men in black. He just wanted to help the family get away safely and give these Mibs the slip before anyone else got hurt.

"Who the hell are you?!!" Bro shouted. "What makes you the big expert on our troubles? I said I want you out of here now!"

But Bro caught up with Dr. Noory a few minutes later and apologized.

Wherever You May Be

Tired and depressed after many hours of searching, Bro and Baby returned home.

Earlier, Baby had called Mama and told her about the maid's murder and Lisa's disappearance. When she got over her shock at Baby's words, Mama said that she knew someone who might be able to help them. When Bro and Baby entered the house, Mama was there and she introduced them to a friend from the science lab, Dr. Noory.

Dr. Noory said that he was very pleased to see the kids again and commented that they were growing like weeds.

Bro excused himself, saying that he had something important to attend to.

Dr. Noory explained that he had helped the family to escape from Mars and helped them to get settled in Sunset Valley. Baby and Bro had been quite young at the time and likely did not remember him.

Meanwile, as Baby chatted with Dr. Noory, Bro made his way back to the graveyard.

He had resigned himself to the belief that the only real chance he had left to find a clue to Lisa's disappearance was to visit the terrifying, psychic entity that Baby had found dwelling in the crypt.

Bro paused in the doorway. He took a long, slow, deep, breath. Then he stepped inside.

AC/DC

As the kids continued their frantic search for Lisa, and the maid's corpse cooled slowly on the back lawn, Papa returned home. Completely unaware of the evening's developments, and pleased to have the house to himself, he turned on the computer to surf for some unusual video entertainment.

Ironically, he had not been shocked in the least when he watched "2 Girls 1 Cup" the previous evening. But tonight he had scarcely loaded windows before he was knocked back by powerful electric currents.

In his final moments, Papa bore a striking resemblance to a fried green tomato, served straight from Nikola Tesla's kitchen.

The smell that filled the room, though, would have ruined anyone's appetite.

Amazingly, when Mama returned from work, the only thing she noticed was the faintest trace of Febreze in the air.

And she never had a chance to notice the maid's remains before they silently disappeared into the shadows of the night.

When the Bullet Hits the Bone

They were too late. It was the maid and she was dead.

"Oh my god!!! Oh my god!!! The men in black got her!" yelled Bro. "Why?! Why her?!!"

"She... She was sleeping with Papa.", said Baby. Her mind was racing. "You don't think..."

"Oh my god no. Lisa!!!"

Bro ran back into the house and grabbed his cell phone. He had 3 text messages from Lisa.

"Wake up, sleepy head. U gonna sleep all day?"

"Where ru???"

"Had a weird run in with the homeless guy. I wanna tell you about it. Call me!!!"

Bro tried to call Lisa on her cell but there was no answer. He and Baby threw on their clothes, jumped in the car, and raced across town to Lisa's house.

"We haven't seen her since we got home from our trip around noon.", said Lisa's mother. We figured she was out with you.

"Oh no! NO!", said Bro as he shot a glance at Baby. "She might be in serious danger, Mrs. Bunch. We've got to find her now!"

Lisa's family got in their cars and took off in search of their missing daughter. Baby and Bro jumped back in their own car.

"We've got to talk to that homeless guy." said Bro as he slammed the car into gear. "Right now he's our only lead."

They made a beeline for the overgrown park where Bro had last seen the homeless man.

Alas, when they got to the park, there was no sign that anyone had ever been there at all.
